Simone Pianigiani, the Slovenian adventure is over
Simone Pianigiani, the statement
Simone Pianigiani has ended his time as coach of Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana. The news comes officially from the Slovenian club via press release. Having arrived in the summer to take Miro Alilović’s place, the Italian coach led the team to win the Slovenian Super Cup and had a good record of 10 wins out of 14 games played in ABA Liga.
However, the path in BKT EuroCup è was dramatically below expectations, with zero wins out of 13 games played. His place will be filled by Zoran Martic. This is communicated with seriousness and professionalism by the Slovenian club.
"His stay on the Dragons’ bench è has also been affected by health problems which caused him to miss five games in October and November, three EuroCup and two national championship games, in addition to the absence in the last ABA game against Mega, played on December 31 in Belgrade", the club is keen to point out.
"We thank Simone for the professionalism and attitude shown during his time with us and wish him the best for the rest of his career, wishing him a speedy recovery", said Davor Uzbinec, director of Cedevita Olimpija.
