WTA Brisbane: Camila Giorgi and Lucia Bronzetti out in the second round

Camila Giorgi's adventure at the WTA 500 in Brisbane ends in the second round. The native of Macerata, in fact, è was sharply defeated by number three seeded Jelena Ostapenko in two sets with a score of 6-1 6-4, in one hour and twenty minutes.

In the first set the Latvian è good at stretching in the fourth game, when she managed to place the break. From that moment, the Riga native does not concede any chance of comeback to her opponent and easily closes the first partial in about half an hour. In the second set, Giorgi, after nullifying a break ball, manages to break serve in the sixth game. However, Ostapenko managed to raise the level of her game again, stringing together four consecutive games, winning 6-4 after 50 minutes and centering access to the round of 16.

Lucia Bronzetti's experience also ends in the second round, as she is defeated in less than an hour by number one seeded Aryna Sabalenka with a clear 6-3 6-0. In the first set the balance lasted four games, as from the fifth game on, the Belarusian placed a partial 12 points to 3 taking a 5-2 lead. Despite an attempt to resist by the Italian, the world number two managed to materialize the second set point, closing the first set in 35 minutes.

In the second partial, the start è nightmarish for Bronzetti, as she loses the first nine points played, immediately finishing 2-0 down. The Rimini player suffers the psychological backlash and can no longer get back into the match. Sabalenka won the set in 24 minutes with a total partial of 24 points to 5.
