Former Italian tennis player Paolo Canè in an interview with La Repubblica warned Jannik Sinner not to trust too much in the recent popularity gained in Italy after winning the Davis Cup: for the former Emilian athlete, so many are waiting for a misstep on his part to return to criticize him as already happened in the past.

"I can only advise him to continue like this, but you will see that everyone will wait for the misstep and then slaughter him, as we are used to in Italy. Although he è a great tennis educator, he always has the right word to every question".
