Inter, Acerbi shoots straight: "We don’t have to justify ourselves"

Francesco Acerbi and Federico Dimarco were harshly criticized on social media for their wild exultation after Henry missed a penalty in the dying minutes of Inter-Verona. After the Nerazzurri outfielder's proud retort, è came also that of Acerbi who did not say he regretted it at all.

"Leone you don’t have to justify yourself – Acerbi wrote in response to teammate Dimarco’s post – It wasn’t against him we would miss it… it was for us an outlet for the tension of the moment… maybe it may seem from the pictures but it doesn’t è so!!!".

"If you should wrong attitude towards opponents è right to apologize!!! A hug lion always head high".

Dimarco had written this post on Instagram: "Did I cheer? Yes" I cheered and a lot too. Without insulting anyone, without rude gestures, I rejoiced so much for the victory, for the 'scare' and for the danger escaped. È sports and è beautiful for that too. Unfortunately è also harsh and cruel to those on the other side".

"And I am sorry if all this joy instinctively exploded in front of Henry who had just missed the penalty and I cheered in front of him. From the gut, I’m honest. Someone will say that it is not è a beautiful thing and they are probably right, but I did not want to offend anyone so much è true that at the final whistle, even before celebrating with my teammates, I went to hug him".

"And the same thing I did in the locker room after the game with my former teammates. Becauseé this è sport. You win, you lose, you cheer, you cry and at the end you hug. To the moralists I say: go ahead and criticize me but watch everything that happens on the field not just what suits you, thank you".
