Brazil officiates new technical commissioner
Official: Dorval Junior è Brazil’s new coach
After collecting a no from Carlo Ancelotti and sounding out José Mourinho, Brazil has made official its new technical commissioner. The "Selecao" in fact, has decided to hire current São Paulo coach Dorval Junior, who won the Copa Libertadores in 2022 with Flamengo. The 1962-born coach has signed a contract with the greenoro national team until 2026.
Following the official announcement by the Brazilian Football Federation, the newly appointed coach wanted to send a touching message of thanks to São Paulo: "It's the realization of a personal dream, which was only possible because I received recognition for the work done at São Paulo. So I must thank you for taking part in this important period of reconstruction, competently led by the presidency and the board. Thanks to the infrastructural and planning investments of the last few years, the club è is ready to welcome the most qualified professionals in the market. Throughout his coaching career, Dorval Junior has had the opportunity to coach almost all the most prestigious clubs in Brazil, including Santos (2010 and 2015-2017), Atletico Mineiro (2011), Flamengo (2012 and 2022), Fluminense (2013), Palmeiras (2014) and São Paulo (2023).
