The words of Luca Banchi on the eve of the challenge with Maccabi Tel Aviv

Coach Luca Banchi spoke in a press conference on the eve of the challenge against Maccabi Tel Aviv, the first of the two European away games Virtus Bologna will face in the Euroleague this week. Game two Wednesday, Jan. 10 at 9 p.m. at the Aleksandar Nikolic Hall in Belgrade. Jordan Mickey will return among the bianconeri.

“The Belgrade match against Maccabi will oblige us to a test of great maturity, especially because of the urgency to offer a defensive performance that will limit their scoring efficiency, to date one of the most prolific in the entire EuroLeague" stressed the coach of the Bologna team.

"Control the pace, ensure protection of the area, win the duel in rebounding and limit the lost balls will be the cornerstones of our game plan, in order to play a balanced game in front of an opponent that, already in the first game, showed its full potential" concluded Banchi.

Isaia Cordinier also spoke on the eve of the challenge against the Israelis: "Maccabi è a particular team at a very specific time, we will have a double week of away games so we are very focused becauseé it will be very challenging. They have a very fast game, so we have to be aware and focused on what we are doing as a team and ready to compete".
