The words of Jannik Sinner

Straight from the Australian TV commentary boxes, Jannik Sinner gave a lengthy interview in which he also revealed what was the turning point during last season. The South Tyrolean tennis player overcame Marc Polmans in two sets at the Kooyong Classic: "Last year è it was a long season, è nice to experience the court sensations again. I know this è an exhibition, I am not as aggressive as I would be in a tournament but playing in front of an audience è nice".

"My tennis è still evolving,‖ added the world number four ranked player. I have been working with the same team for two years, trying to take more information, to understand better the athletic part and my body. With this team I feel safe, and è the most important word".

Few doubt the best match of 2023: "The win over Djokovic in Davis Cup" although the turning point match for Jannik è was another: "Mentally, beating Medvedev in Beijing è was a turning point: he had beaten me six times out of six. My confidence è grew, I tried something new and it worked. Then I won Vienna. And the Finals were kind of the icing on the cake".

On the d'friendship with Carlos Alcaraz: "We have a very good relationship, on the court we both try to entertain the audience. We get along well, we are two normal people. It was nice for me to be there when they dedicated the field to him (Alcaraz è a field inside the Juan Carlos Ferrero Academy was named after him, ed.), and afterwards we also had fun playing a ball game".

" I also happened to train with Andy (Murray, who è took the court after him against Marin Cilic, ed.). I am not someone who wins a lot in practice, but that time he really dominated me. It's good to see him back with the right mindset and a lot of passion. I would have hoped to see Nadal again as well, the announcement of his absence at the Australian Open è it was a difficult message" Sinner closed.
