Nico Mannion returns on choice to play in Varese

Forty-eight hours away from the challenge between his Openjobmetis Varese and Umana Reyer Venezia, scheduled for Sunday with the two-a-side ball at 4:30 p.m., Nico Mannion spoke to the club’s official channels, also returning to his choice and explaining why he chose the white-and-red club after his farewell to Baskonia.

"I came to Varese becauseé I wanted to win,” Mannion said, “but most of all, and this è the most important thing for me, becauseé I had the chanceé to play a lot. Now we come from four wins in the last four games, but on Sunday we are called to a difficult commitment against Venice, the current league leader; to get the better of it we will have to be able to do our thing by giving our best in training and be ready".

Speaking about the upcoming engagement, l'ex Virtus then specified: "The key to the match è related to the fact that we will have to play our basketball by putting a lot of energy and defending very well. Physically they are well equipped so we will have to be ready in this aspect, but also from the mental one we will need energy".

Mannion also addressed a message to the fans, who welcomed him with open arms:"Alreadyà against Reggio Emilia the atmosphere was beautiful – explained the Azzurri national -, I expect the same feelings". Varese, against Venice, aims to continue the positive series: it won the last three of the championship, against Pesaro, Reggiana and Treviso, and also the FIBA Europe Cup challenge against CSM Oradea.
