Gunther Steiner tells his truth about farewell to Haas
The truth of one of the most beloved team principals in Formula 1, who found himself overnight without a job.
Gunther Steiner and Haas have somewhat surprisingly parted ways, and the South Tyrolean team principal himself (among the most beloved team principals in the Circus, thanks in part to the starring role he è been able to carve out for himself in 'Drive to Survive') has decided to tell the whole story of what happened. Emphasizing the fact that he himself è was partly displaced by the decisions of his now former stable.
"No one was satisfied with the results collected by Haas in 2023. This è obvious. Forò I did not expect that they would not renew my contract,” Steiner explained to the British microphones of 'Sky Sports'. Then è clear, the time to return to talk about it was approaching and when you do not open a dialogue you have to take into account that the agreement is not found".
Steiner è then went into more detail about what è happened: "Gene Haas phoned me while I was in Italy for the vacations. It was a day between Christmas and New Year’s Day. Our goals were never about a specific quota of points or results, just not finishing last in the constructors’ standings. He did not seem unhappy, but his role allows him to make such decisions. The team è his, and if after ten years he wanted to change course it was his right to do so".
