Yamaha, Fabio Quartararo è categorical: "I want to see results"

During an interview given to the microphones of "Speedweek", French centaur Fabio Quartararo è expressed himself bluntly about his future, as his contract with Yamaha will expire at the end of 2024. After a decidedly negative 2023, the 2021 world champion’s hope would be for an improvement in terms of competitiveness from the Japanese manufacturer.

"Ità will be very important to see what Marquez and Morbidelli will do on the Ducati next season. My future will be decided this year, but I don&#39t really know when. Yamaha is doing something I have not seen before, they are working so hard and trying to improve the bike, forò what interests me è to have positive results over the weekends" began the French centaur.

"I don’t know if they will succeed, but I want to see improvements, and that will be a key aspect in deciding on my future. Their mentality is getting closer to the European mentality, è it has become more open and for Yamaha è it’s a big change. If I see è the bike improve enough to allow me to fight for victory, I would like to continue to be part of this project, but the work è a lot and they have to show me a lot, not only to get my signature. Personally I am convinced that we can return to the top and I hope they will bring something big already; for the tests in Malaysia" added Fabio Quartararo.

After winning the world title in 2021 and leading the 2022 championship for a long time, before giving way to the pair formed by Pecco Bagnaia and Ducati, the number 20 centaur had to deal with a clear technical setback of the Yamaha, which relegated him to the lower areas of the standings without any chance of competing for victory or the podium.
