Dominik Paris enjoys Kitzbuehel podium: “Dream day”
Satisfaction with the podium and awareness of the strength of the main rival.
Sixth time on the podium in the Streif downhill for Dominik Paris, who on this Tyrolean Saturday must bow in Kitzbuehel in front of the current superiority of Cyprien Sarrazin and Marco Odermatt. With his third place on the Streif, Paris confirms his third position in the specialty ranking with 329 points behind Odermatt (516) and Sarrazin (510). And for him the satisfaction with the podium prevails over the knowledge that catching up with rivals è at the moment very complicated.
"Today è was a magnificent race – were the words of Paris – Finding such a day ì è a dream: beautiful track, winter conditions. Impossible to ask for more; I made a few mistakes at the top, then Sarrazin right now is skiing great. Odermatt himself was not particularly happy. He thought he had a great race and like me he cares about winning every day".
Thirteenth place, on the other hand, allows Mattia Casse to regain a partial smile after the previous day’s difficult test: "Compared to Friday; I improved and skied better, even if a few tenths more; I could have filed it down. Definitely not è it was not easy to digest the disappointment of Friday; it was important to make a good performance".
A good race in the middle for Florian Schieder, on the other hand, who came back from second place on Friday: "In the lower part very good, I jumped a lot at Mausfalle and lost a little bit of line in the next corners. Staying in the top 10 would have been a good result".
