Djokovic showed extraordinary form, with 17 aces, an 81 percent win rate on his first serve and 31 winning strokes.
His next opponent will be Taylor Fritz (12), who defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas (7) by a score of 7-6 (3), 5-7, 6-3, 6-3. Fritz fought hard in the first set and overcame a muscle problem to win the match in 3 hours and 1 minute.
The Serb, who will eventually take on Jannik Sinner in the semifinals, è thus reached the quarterfinals of a Grand Slam tournament for the 54th time, another record for his collection. In the Australian Open women’s draw, Cori Gauff and Aryna Sabalenka advanced.
