Lazio and Napoli cancel each other out: white nets at the Olimpico
Lazio-Napoli 0-0
Lazio and Napoli, two of the teams coming off the Italian Super Cup Final Four, did not go beyond 0-0 in the match played late Sunday afternoon at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome. Both looking for important points in order not to lose the Champions train, the two teams battled in a match that was more intense than beautiful, in which the defenses got the better of them.
In the first half è the home team to be favored, although Walter Mazzarri’s men prevailed in terms of ball possession: è especially Isaksen to create some headaches for Di Lorenzo and his teammates, although he failed to really trouble Gollini. At the beginning of the second half, after not even two minutes of play, Castellanos's great backhander deserves to be pointed out: the ball gets past the visiting goalkeeper, but the referee cancels for offside.
The match remains deadlocked, the substitutions come in the final: in Lazio enter Luca Pellegrini, Vecino, Pedro and Rovella in place of Lazzari, Guendouzi, Isaksen and Cataldi; for Napoli there are Gaetano, Ngonge, Mazzocchi, Lindstrom and Dendoncker who replace Demme, Raspadori, Mario Rui, Politano and Zielinski.
The fresh forces did not unlock forò the result neither on one side nor on the other, despite 5 minutes of recovery time: it ended 0-0, with Lazio going to 34 points and Napoli rising to 32. For the biancocelesti è the fifth consecutive useful result in the league (ends forò, at the same time, the series of four wins in a row), Napoli, on the other hand, fails to follow up the victory of two weeks ago against Salernitana.
