Francesco Petrella no longer è the head coach of Modena. The Emilian club announced its decision on Sunday, three days after the SuperLega loss to Padova. The team è been temporarily entrusted to Nicolò Zanni, current assistant coach. The è officiality of the news è was confirmed through a note released by the club.

"Modena Volleyball announces that it has relieved Francesco Petrella from his position as first team coach,” reads the note. “President Giulia Gabana and all of Modena Volleyball thank the coach for the fairness and professionalism he has shown. The Society wishes Francesco all the best for the continuation of his professional career. Today’s afternoon practice will be directed by’Assistant Coach Nicolò Zanni".

After a decent period between the end of November and the beginning of December, Modena è stumbled into a series of negative results that have weighed on the clubà decision: since Christmas, in fact, the gialloblù have won only one game out of the seven played, between the league and the Italian Cup, the one played against Monza last January 14.

In the standings Modena occupies the eighth place, the last one useful for the playoffs, tied forò with the ninth ranked, Cisterna, with 19 points.
