Ivan Zaytsev still dreams of the Scudetto
The words of Ivan Zaytsev
Red and white giant Ivan Zaytsev is confident about Cucine Lube Civitanova’s potential growth in the second half of the season. At the same time, the Czar congratulates Alberto Giuliani on the call to the reins of Valsa Group Modena, also taking the opportunity to issue a challenge to the Marche coach, who had guided him at the time of his first winning cycle as a Cuciniero. This and much more è emerged today during the “7×4” rotogravure on Radio Arancia, partner station of the vice champions of Italy.
“Lube è grappling with a mini-preparation for the final part of the championship. We work hard from the physical point of view to put gas in our legs and, of course, we work just as hard to take care of the technical part, even initiating intense six-on-sixes among ourselves in order to find more consistency in our volleyball. We are still an open construction site and we are working to realize the Lube we want. It will probably count a lot to roll up our sleeves, but also to take the court with a smile and the joy of playing, the same enthusiasm we had as kids".
"Our ups and downs in individual matches? In my opinion è a mental issue that we can overcome. As we have already shown in the past, the Play Offs will be a different tournament, we will struggle to be ready. I have faced the Playoffs Scudetto several times, è it is my job to set an example to the younger ones and to instill them so that they have the right approach. We “old guys” have to be the first ones to arrive and the last ones to leave in the gym. The focus now è on the home challenge with Modena. Among the exes of the match is my former coach and now friend Alberto Giuliani. I have kept in touch with him since my first experience at Lube and I am happy that he is about to face a new important professional stage, albeit a difficult one given the task of reviving a team that is going through a delicate period. It will beà nice to see Alberto again at’Eurosuole Forum, hug him again, challenge his staff and, possibly, beat him”.
