The words of Gerry Cardinale

Gerry Cardinale gave a long interview to GQ Sports. "My idea è has always been to consider sports like any other industry but now I have a new level of stress that I have never experienced before. For buying any other kind of company, you do due diligence before you make an offer. If you buy a sports team, you take a look at the figures in the newspapers and you throw it out there. There isn't much analytical rigor to back up these valuations. They are simply worth what someone è willing to pay".

"Jeff Bezos will probably buy" an NFL team, he could buy" the whole league if he wanted to. If it’s not going to be the Silicon Valley guys. The next rung up, in terms of ability to pay, è are the hedge fund and private equity guys. È my world, the world of finance, investment and Wall Street".

"My idea è has always been to look at sports like any other industry. You can produce widgets in Omaha or own the Giants in New York. It should be the same thing. È stressful to own things in general, è stressful to put this kind of money to work, è stressful to be a trustee for third-party capital. Now I have a new level of stress that I have never experienced before. It è bothers me", he finally reiterated.
