Tommaso Baldanzi one step away from Roma

After the arrivals of Dean Huijsen on a dry loan from Juventus and Angeliño from Leipzig, again on a temporary basis but with the right of redemption, Roma è is close to placing the third shot of this winter market: it is Tommaso Baldanzi, a talented class of 2003 who has made a name for himself with the Empoli jersey and has been sought by several other Italian clubs.

According to reports from 'Sky Sport', the deal would be in the home straight, with the two clubs having already reached verbal agreement and are busy ironing out the final details. The transfer of the player would take place in exchange for 13 million euros plus 2 million euros in bonuses linked to appearances and goals, with 20 percent to be guaranteed to the Tuscans on the amount of a future resale.

Growing up in the youth ranks of Empoli after taking his first steps in Castelfiorentino, Baldanzi, who was born in Poggibonsi (Siena) on March 23, 2003, made his professional debut in the 2020/21 season with the Empoli jersey, playing only a couple of matches in the Coppa Italia with the first team that season.

In 2021/22 the debut in Serie A (on May 22, 2022, in the 1-0 win against Atalanta), while the real explosion came in the 2022/23 season, with the icing on the cake represented by the goal-victory at San Siro, on January 23, 2023, against Inter. Baldanzi also boasts 7 appearances and 2 goals with the Under-20 national team, with which he è reached the final of the World Cup in his category in 2023, and 3 appearances and one goal with the Under-21 shirt.
