Official: Beppe Iachini è the new coach of Bari
After exonerating Pasquale Marino following the heavy loss suffered against Palermo on the last day of the championship, Bari, through a statement on its official channels, has announced the hiring of Beppe Iachini as their new coach. The former Siena coach has signed a contract with the Biancorossi until June 30, 2025.
"SSC Bari welcomes Giuseppe Iachini (07.05.64, Ascoli Piceno), who from today will take over as head coach of the biancorossa first team. The agreement that will bind the coach from Marche to the club of President Luigi De Laurentiis until June 2025 has been found.
After a career as a midfielder spent mainly in Serie A and B, Iachini began his experience on the bench in 2002 serving as coach at Cesena, then at Vicenza and Piacenza before being called to Chievo Verona in the ’07-’08 season. With the gialloblù he conquered promotion to A by registering a record 85 points that earned him the Panchina d’Argento as best coach of the cadet season. He repeated himself in season ’09-’10 on the bench of Brescia, which he took on the run in October until leading them to playoff victory at the expense of Torino. In November ’11 è the Sampdoria to entrust him with the task of lifting the fortunes of the newly relegated blucerchiati; after making his debut right at the San Nicola, he becomes the protagonist of a’major comeback that will lead the Doriani to center the’last place good for the playoffs, then won by beating Varese in the final.
After the parenthesis in A with Siena, in the season ’13-’14, he was called to B to lead Palermo given the rosanero's stunted start. He conquered direct promotion to the Highest Series with as many as 5 days in advance, finishing with 86 points, an absolute record in the cadetteria. In his long career he has led Udinese, Sassuolo and Fiorentina in Serie A and Parma in Serie B.
