The Australian Open winner will leave for California on Wednesday, bound for Indian Wells, the first Masters 1000 of the season. Sinner will go in the hunt to overtake Carlos Alcaraz, the defending champion, in the rankings. Berrettini, on the other hand, is expected to return in mid-March at Challenger 175 in Phoenix, and will è sign up for the Miami Masters 1000 thanks to the protected ranking.

"Jannik is doing crazy things, we write to each other often. The fact that we are more united than ever from a sports point of view has helped me, being next to him in Davis has been a springboard for me. I am also trying to take something from him, from his approach, as a strong push to come back. Seeing an Italian playing with me who is up there makes me also want to get there" confessed the Roman in a recent press conference via Zoom.

"We talked after the Australian Open final, he wrote me a beautiful message,” Jannik had said during the press conference organized in Rome after the triumph in Melbourne -. He è a really strong player, he also always helped me, I am grateful to him. If he were to ask me something, as è already happened a few times, I would be willing to help him becauseé I care a lot about him".
