Lisa Vittozzi wins World Cup specialty of the individual
By finishing fourth in the Oslo-Holmenkollen race Lisa Vittozzi won the World Cup in the individual specialty for the third time in her career, the second consecutive time, 10 points ahead of the first of the pursuers, Ingrid Tandrevold. That’s 165 points for Lisa, compared to Tandrevold’s 155 and Voigt’s 150. In the overall, however, always condiuce Tandrevold, who rises to 809 points, against Braisaz’s 725 and Vittozzi’s 721.
It wasnè t an easy race for the Sappadine, who è started with a lot of confidence, but then made two mistakes in the middle ranges, which forced her to chase her opponents. In the end, however, she still finished, precisely, in fourth place with 51″2 behind the winner, Tandrevold, followed by Elvira Oeberg (2 errors and 28″8 behind) and Ida Lien (1 error and 32 seconds behind). But the fourth place of the Sappadine è more than enough to win the Cup: one of the goals of the Italian woman in this season finale, after the harvest of medals won at the World Championships.
“&It’s always a satisfaction to win a specialty World Cup,” Vittozzi said, “I hit another big goal for this season and I’m happy with this trophy, the third in the individual . Next year I will conentrò to win another one in another specialty. In this race I made one mistake too many, perhaps I was not completely focused at the range, but I limited the damage well on skis”.
Vittozzi started well, with a pace only slightly slower than the best and at the first polygon he did not make a mistake, coming out in line for a podium position. At the second polygon, Vittozzi tries to unleash the’attack with a very fast series, but makes a mistake and comes out with 1’17″4 from Braisaz, who leads without mistakes. The heaviest mistake for Lisa è was the one on the third polygon, which set her back in the standings, but the Sappadina girl does not give up and does not make any more mistakes and, thanks to the mistakes of her opponents and her speed on skis, she finds herself in the high shares of the standings.
The other azzurre: good race for Hannah Auchentaller, who closes in 20th place with 2 errors and 2’41″4 delay, and è twenty-sixth Samuela Comola, also with 2 errors and 3’08″4 gap. Lagging further behind are Michela Carrara, Rebecca Passler and Beatrice Trabucchi, respectively forty-fourth with 4 errors, fifty-third with 3 errors and fifty-fourth with 2 errors.
