Vendrame wins again

Andrea Vendrame, fresh from a Giro d’Italia in which he è made his mark, won the highlight of the Cycling Stars Criterium 2024, the race reserved for professionals. The Treviso cyclist, who è distinguished himself in the recent Corsa Rosa with an extraordinary solo breakaway culminating in triumph in Sappada, è managed to prevail over top-level opponents.

At the finish line Vendrame anticipated the best sprinter of the Giro, Jonathan Milan, and the best youngster, Antonio Tiberi. The race included 25 laps of the 1-kilometer circuit in the center of Pieve di Soligo. To play for victory in this edition a parterre, as always, exceptional.

At the start 30 riders including – besides the already mentioned Vendrame, Milan and Tiberi – the winner of the stage with arrival in Lucca Benjamin Thomas, the revelation of the Giro Giulio Pellizzari, the Italian champion Simone Velasco, and then Pozzovivo, Zana, Dainese, Milesi, Cimolai, Pasqualon, Pietrobon and many, many others.

"I was overjoyed to find this square full of fans, friends and fans, I live near here and for me è something special. Then I won in front of two great champions like Jonathan and Antonio so what can I say, I am really very excited. I hope that I also gave the fans emotions during the Giro and that this brought some of them here in Pieve di Soligo" said Vendrame.
