Brindisi, Piero Bucchi has a new point guard

Happy Casa Brindisi announced that it has acquired the services of Italian point guard Andrea Calzavara, class of 2001. The player binds to the biancoazzurra company until June 30, 2027, with an agreement that includes bilateral exit options at the end of each sports season.

Growing up in the youth sector of Varese Basketball, where he played three national finals in his category, he accumulated experience among seniors in the B Series in the orbit of Campus Varese and Robur et Fides. Performances that earned him the Adidas award for best under of the month in December 2020, tabbed with figures of 16.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.8 assists. His season in Pavia – averaging 11.5 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game – projects him as one of the best prospects of the 2001’year. The next step è the A2 Series, on his debut in Mantua (2022/23) and confirmation in Monferrato (2023/24).

During the last A2 championship he produced in the Piedmont team an average of 13.4 points (55% from two, 42% from three and 76% at the free), 4.5 rebounds and 3.1 assists in 31 minutes of usage during the clock phase. His best performance of the season l’ve recorded in the regular season in the match won against Torino: 21 points, 9 assists, 5 rebounds and 25 total rating
