Novak Djokovic gets è knee surgery: the goal is the Olympic Games
In the aftermath of his withdrawal from Roland Garros due to a medial meniscus injury in his right knee, according to a report by L'Equipe Novak Djokovic has decided to "undergo an operation at a Paris clinic by a young French surgeon".
"If all goes well, the Serb should be discharged in the next few hours and be able to regain support on his right leg. But he will need at least three weeks of convalescence, which should force him to miss the Wimbledon tournament (July 1-14)" then explains the French newspaper.
The Paris Olympic Games (July 27-Aug. 4), on the other hand, should not be at risk, and this is not surprising given that the Paris event is the highlight of the Serb’s season, as he hunts for the only trophy missing from his trophy case.
Novak Djokovic, after coming back and winning from two sets to one down against both Lorenzo Musetti and Francisco Cerundolo, è withdrew from the Roland Garros quarterfinals against Norwegian Casper Ruud.
