NBA Finals, Boston scrambles Dallas in Game 1
A 30-point, 10-rebound Doncic is not enough
The NBA Finals have officially begun. The first act of the series smiles on Boston, which scrambles Dallas with a bombastic 107-89 win. In the first half, the Celtics even climb to +28, dragged by an excellent Brown (22 points) and the returning Porzingis (20 points). No need for the best Tatum, author however of 16 decidedly heavy points.
Dallas chews bitterly, which, despite a comeback attempt in the third period, then collapses badly, exhausted by Boston’s super-aggressive defense. A 30-point, 10-rebound Doncic (but only one assist on the scoreboard) is not enough. Who largely disappoints è Irving who puts up only 12 points with a horrid 6/19 from the field. The Mavs shoot a lackluster 7/27 from long distance.
"Kristaps (Porzingis, ed.) had a monster game. His shooting ability, his ability to attack despite their turnovers, the mismatches he took advantage of. He made Dallas pay in every game situation and è just what we needed", Brown’s words reported by ESPN.
"We need to move the ball more. The ball è stayed too still. We will be moreù ready for game 2", the words of Kidd, Dallas coach. Of the same opinion Irving, who è definitely missed in the first act of the NBA Finals (31.6 percent shooting, lowest percentage in all 14 finals games played in his career): "The ball needs to move a little more' more.
