Milan, still obstacles on the road to Joshua Zirkzee: the situation

The willà to close the operation there'è but the problems remain.

AC Milan soccer market: Joshua Zirkzee remains the top priority for the Rossoneri attack of the future, and the center forward himself who exploded in Bologna has made it clear that he would like the possible change of shirt. The Milanese leadership wants to close his purchase, with the player’s approval, but there continue to be obstacles toward the success of an operation that all parties involved seem to want to close as soon as possible.

Taking stock of the situation è the 'Gazzetta dello Sport' which in its Saturday edition reiterates the problem that Milan is currently unable to solve. It is the commission that Kia Joorabchian, Zirkzee’s agent, demands to complete his move to the Rossoneri from Bologna: 15 million euros. A definitely important figure, taking into account the fact that already; the player’s rescission clause amounts to 40 million. And the Diavolo does not seem willing to shoulder this kind of investment.

However, one still breathes optimism in the Milan household, taking into account Zirkzee’s will, the fact that Bologna does not seem willing to oppose the deal, the fact that the 40 million investment is considered acceptable by the Rossoneri management, but also the precedent of Charles De Ketelaere. During the summer of 2023, in fact, the same knot seemed close to scuppering the Belgian’s move to Atalanta. But it was eventually dissolved.

In any case, Milan does not want to be caught unprepared. Given the firm will to secure Zirkzee, there are also alternative tracks. One of the hottest leads to Santiago Gimenez, a Mexican born in 2001 currently at Feyenoord and author of 23 goals in the last Eredivisie. More difficult is Serhou Guirassy, a French-Guinean from Stuttgart.
