F1, Carlos Sainz speaks out on the Williams hypothesis
Carlos Sainz comments on Williams'interest
Still without a steering wheel for the 2025 season and increasingly distant from a landing in Mercedes given the statements of Toto Wolff ("we bet on young people already in the orbit of Mercedes" said the Austrian executive), Carlos Sainz è grappling with the close court of Williams, which would like to give him the steering wheel that Logan Sargeant will leave free at the end of the season.
While flattered, Sainz admitted that he has not yet made a decision: "I undoubtedly appreciate James Vowles'interest (Williams team principal, ed.) and the kind words he has always had for me, I can say words of a similar tone to him and his team. But the reality; è that I have not yet decided where I will go next year because, as I said in the press conference the other day, I am too focused on this season" are the words collected by 'Autosport'.
"Right now,” added Sainz, who è is struggling with his last season in Ferrari, “I only think about race weekends. Every weekend we try to fight for the podium, sometimes even for the win. It's very difficult to think about the future when you always have important weekends ahead".
In any case, a decision will have to come soon, before the seats are all filled: "I will need some time to sit down with my management, figure out for myself first what I want from myself and only then decide where to go. But if you ask me now, there's really nothing decided".
