The words of Jannik Sinner

Returning home as world number one for Jannik Sinner who, as he had already promised after winning the Davis Cup and triumphing at the Australian Open, went to his native Sesto Pusteria where he signed the Golden Book, the town’s highest honor.

Jannik Sinner, in a rain that certainly did not discourage his concittaddini from showing up in the town square, dispensed smiles and a few words before moving to the nearby gymnasium to meet the “children who, like me, grew up in an ordinary town. I want to help them dream”.

"I am happy with this celebration, to be able to come home to this small community, among these beautiful mountains that surround us", added the South Tyrolean tennis player, who at Roland Garros è was eliminated in the semifinals by Carlos Alcaraz, later the tournament’s triumphant and world number two.
