The refereeing controversy rages after Game 3 of the Scudetto final between Olimpia Milano and Virtus Bologna. The referee's call less than two seconds before the buzzer, with the throw-in turned over by Segafredo to EA7, also sparked a hornet’s nest on social media. The instant replay did not clarify the situation but the referee decided to turn the throw-in anyway.

Bologna coach Luca Banchi è incredulous: "You can clearly see that the ball goes in the opposite direction to Abass. Decision objectively inexplicable, puzzling. It is not for me to judge.
