Alessandro Nesta: "Can't wait to start"

On the day after his officialization in the role of Monza coach, Alessandro Nesta described through a post published on his social channels all his enthusiasm for the experience that awaits him in Brianza, his first as a coach of a Serie A club after his experiences in the cadetteria, most recently at Reggiana.

"I cannot wait to start, I cannot wait for the first day of training camp – wrote the former defender -, I cannot wait to put my passion and dedication to work at the service of this team. Thank you to Adriano Galliani and all of AC Monza for this opportunity’".

Born in 1976, one of the most appreciated and successful defenders of his generation, Nesta began his coaching career in the US NASL, a minor league in which he led Miami FC. Since 2018, he has been coaching in Italy, again in B: he first led Perugia, then Frosinone and finally Reggiana.

His best finish overall è first place in the 2017 NASL regular season (Miami FC was later defeated in the playoff semifinals by the NY Cosmos on penalties), while in Italy he achieved three eighth places, two consecutive with Perugia and one with Frosinone. In the recently concluded season he achieved salvation with Reggiana, finishing in 11th place.
