Montenegro’s national team goalkeeper, Matija Sarkic, è died. He was only 26 years old. The terrible news è was disclosed by Millwall, the English Championship club for which the boy played, without providing further details. According to the Montenegrin newspaper Vijesti, the goalkeeper è was found lifeless in an apartment in Budva.
Sarkic's last game with Montenegro was on June 5, a 2-0 defeat against Belgium in a friendly match played by the Red Devils ahead of Euro 2024, in which the Balkan selection is not taking part.è it was the extreme defender's ninth appearance with the national team.
Born in Grimsby, England, Sarkic played in the youth ranks of Aston Villa and Anderlecht, Belgium. This season he had collected 33 appearances with Millwall, a London club, after arriving from Premier League side Wolverhampton in August last year.
