Euro 2024, Paolo Di Canio places Spain and Germany ahead of Italy
Paolo Di Canio gets unbalanced on Germany, Spain and Italy
During an interview given to the microphones of "Il Messaggero", Paolo Di Canio, among other topics discussed, expressed his opinion on Italy's chances of continuing its adventure after its painful debut success with Albania. In addition, the former West Ham player also dwelt on those national teams that have left their mark in this first week of the tournament, Spain and Germany above all.
"Italy made us suffer right away with that trifle in the start against Albania, but thanks to its stubbornness and the low resistance of the opponents we started with a good victory. There are no stars in our national team, so the difference can only be made by our Ct" debuted the former Sunderland coach.
"I fully agree with the statements made by Spalletti after the match: a lot of volume of play but little substance and without outstanding players capable of deciding matches. I add that these difficulties came against a poor team, unable to defend and dribble. Italy did not know how to take advantage of the chances and in the end a rib by Donnarumma saved us, otherwise it would have ended 2-2" added the former West Ham striker.
"I have seen Spain and Germany go at a higher speed. Hopefully the team will grow thanks to Spalletti’s work, but none of these players in such a short time can become a phenomenon. Luciano cannotò say it, but we have not had the strength to dare becauseè we have no champions" concluded Paolo Di Canio.
