Flavio Briatore returns to Formula 1, it’s official

After weeks of rumors, è official: "The BWT Alpine F1 Team confirms that Flavio Briatore è has been appointed by Renault Group's CEO, Luca de Meo, as its executive adviser for the Formula 1" division.
The 74-year-old from Cuneo, architect of the triumphs of first Benetton and then Renault with Michael Schumacher and Fernando Alonso respectively, will have an important role in the French team that from 2026 could be powered by Mercedes.
"Briatore,” the note continues, “will focus on the high-level areas of the team, including: scouting for top talent and providing insights into the driver market, challenging the existing project by evaluating the current structure and advising on a number of strategic issues within the sport".
