Ferrari, Charles Leclerc sees black: “Signs not good”
A difficult Saturday to digest.
Charles Leclerc at the Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix will be forced to start from fifth on the grid, in a third row shared with Carlos Sainz's other Ferrari. A disappointing result on Saturday in Montmelò: not so much for the gap to third place (just 31 thousandths), but for the 3 tenths remedied by poleman Lando Norris.
"If you take three tenths from the pole position è the case to investigate to find out what is wrong. Becauseé surely there is something that in Ferrari we have not yet identified – explained hot Leclerc, speaking in the post qualifying mixed zone in Montmelò -. The signs are not good, as we now have two cars different from ours that beat us by three and a half tenths". The other, in addition to the McLaren of Lando Norris, è the usual Red Bull of Max Verstappen.
"I care little about the thousandths gap from Mercedes,” Leclerc reiterated to 'Sky Sport' -It is the three tenths from pole that is the real problem. The fact è that we always have to find a compromise between the first and third sectors, and we can never be happy. Today for Ferrari is not è a good day".
Goals for the Spanish Grand Prix remain to be set, and in that sense Leclerc speaks clearly: "Under normal conditions, we can fight for the podium. I mean third place, which canò be on the line. First and second, however, are not. I think we can play it with the Mercedes".
