Sweet dedication by Jannik Sinner for girlfriend Anna Kalinskaya
After the Halle STP awards ceremony, Jannik Sinner dedicated a thoughtful dedication to girlfriend Anna Kalinskaya, who was defeated in the final of the Berlin WTA 500 by Jessica Pegula: "Anna played in Berlin and lost the final after having five match points. I feel so sorry for her who had an incredible week".
Sinner è already focused on Wimbledon: "I can't wait to play, definitely will have more confidence on this surface. Do I feel like the favorite? In a Slam è different, I am happy to be No. 1 but on grass you can lose quickly. I am one of the favorites, but not the only one because there are so many others who play well. In two weeks anything can happen, we will see who will play better".
The Wimbledon tournament will be played from July 1 to 14. Staggering prize pool: the All England Club, which organizes the Grand Slam's only grass tournament, has put up a total prize pool that amounts to 50 million pounds, about 59 million euros at current exchange rates. The champions and runners-up in men’s and women’s singles will receive 2.7 million pounds (3.2 million euros) and 1.4 million pounds (1.7 million euros), respectively. Each tennis player who participates in the first round will start from a prize base of 60 thousand pounds (71'000 euros). Prizes for the men’s and women’s doubles champions will also go up (£650'000, or €770'000).
