On the day of his farewell game (a’friendly match organized in Legnano with his friend Tommaso Marino), Tommaso Cerella spoke to Tuttosport about this big planned celebration: "I haven’t slept for three days! Everyone is coming here from all over the world to greet us, our affections and friendships are here, there's a beautiful delirium. I did not expect such a sell-out so quickly, it makes you realize how much beauty I have created through sports and how many strong bonds have been born beyond results”.

The now former basketball player talked about the turning point in his career: "There were several: when I finished youth, when I had a good season in Potenza and after playing my first A games in Teramo. I never felt fulfilled and worked to carve out a role for myself within teams that were fighting to win, which is why I specialized in defense. I was able to play my role to the best of my ability and I did it mostly because of my head. To have received so many compliments from teammates, coaches and fans and for me is worth so much".

Closing remark on trophies: “The first scudetto with Milan, in 2014, I saw it as the fruit of a long journey of dedication to work. The one with Venice in 2019 è was very intense: I played so much as a protagonist in a team that was an underdog".
