The draw was held in Lodz, the venue of the Volleyball Nations League Finals, for the composition of the men’s volleyball groupings for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games scheduled from July 27 to August 11. Italy was placed in Pool B along with European champions Poland, Brazil and Egypt.
In Pool A along with host France, the number one seed, Slovenia, Canada and Serbia while in Pool C Japan USA, Argentina and Germany.
The twelve participants will be divided into three groups. At the end of the group stage, an overall ranking will be drawn up that will determine the eight formations that will continue their Olympic journey; the top two from each grouping plus the two best thirds will qualify for the knockout stage (quarterfinals).
