Brazil overwhelms Paraguay 4-1, all easy for Colombia with Costa Rica
Wide victory for Brazil in the Copa America. In the match valid for the second day of Group D, the Brazilian national team came out on top with a clear 1-4 win over Paraguay, thus moving up to 4 points in the standings, -2 from Colombia, which defeated Costa Rica in the night with a peremptory 3-0.
In the ranks of the verdeoro it was Vinicius Jr who unlocked the result at 35'. Eight minutes later came Savinho’s double, and in the first half recovery the Real Madrid player sealed his personal double. At the beginning of the second half, Paraguay managed to partially reopen the match thanks to Omar Alderete's goal, but at 65' the penalty kick converted by Lucas Paquetà closed the games for good.
It was all easy for Colombia, which opened the scoring on 35' with Luiz Diaz scoring the shot from the penalty spot. Then in the second half, the national team coached by Néstor Lorenzo took the lead by scoring two goals within three minutes with Davinson Sanchez (59) and Jhon Cordoba (62).
In the last match of Group D, Brazil and Colombia will play for first place, with the Cafeteros having two out of three results at their disposal. In the other match, Costa Rica and Paraguay will face each other.
