Jannik Sinner reveals his obsession
The Obsession of Jannik Sinner
Jannik Sinner told his story in a lengthy interview given to 'L'Equipe' last March, during the Indian Wells Masters 1000, and published in the last few hours, in which he covered numerous topics including his obsession with the noise produced by the ball coming out of his racket.
“When I try racquets, I focus on the noise of the ball,” the South Tyrolean stressed. I don't even look at where it lands. If I have a good feeling with respect to the sound, then è the right racquet. Some players focus on the ball control that a particular racquet offers them. For me è it’s all about the sound".
"It has to be clean, but also heavy,” added the world number one. I don’t like it when it è rough, when it rubs, like scratching. After that, in a match, the most important thing è choosing the right shot at the right time. But in training, the ’goal è to get a good feeling. And for me, the best feeling coincides with the right sound".
Sinner will make his Wimbledon debut on Monday, July 1 against Germany’s Yannick Hanfmann. The match è scheduled on Court 1 after the matches of Daniil Medvedev, who will open the dance at 2 p.m. Italian time against Aleksandar Kovacevic, and Aryna Sabalenka, opposing Emina Bektas.
