Market blow in the Reyer Venezia household. The orogranata company, in fact, announced through an official statement the signing of Davide Moretti: "L'Umana Reyer è pleased to communicate the signing of the multi-year agreement with Davide Moretti, coming from Pallacanestro Varese".
Born in Bologna, Italy, on March 25, 1998, Moretti è a 6’9″, 81-kilogram playmaker/guard. Last season è was the league's 11° best 3-point shooter with 42 percent from the arc.
Davide trained basketball in the youth of Pistoia Basket, making his very young debut in Serie A on October 26, 2014. In the 2015/17 seasons he plays two major championships in A2 with Treviso Basket. On June 10, 2017, he moved to play and study in the United States, in the NCAA, where he defended the colors of Texas Tech University, becoming a fundamental element of the Red Raiders and contributing decisively to a historic final at March Madness, lost only in the overtime against Virginia despite his 15 points.
In May 2020 he returned to Italy by signing an agreement with Milan: in Olimpia jersey he played one season, also debuting in the Euroleague, winning an Italian Supercup and an Italian Cup. In the two-year period 2021§/23 he defends the colors of VL Pesaro, putting up 10.2 points, with 36.5% from 3, and almost 3 assists in 23.3 minutes average. In the last season he è starred with Varese Basketball with whom he recorded 12.1 points, 3 assists and 3 rebounds per contest, with 89.2% from the line, 42% from 3-point range and and 12.4 average rating.
Moretti also wore the national team jersey in his career: in 2016, in Turkey, he won the bronze medal at the Under-18 European Championship, while on Nov. 30, 2020, in Tallinn, he made his debut with coach Sacchetti’s senior selection in the Eurobasket 2022 Qualifiers match won over Russia 70-66.
