Sold out for the Prevention Caravan
On the occasion of the final of the Italian Women’s Puntocuore Beach Soccer Cup of the National Amateur League in Cirò Marina, the Caravan of Prevention, Komen Italia’s traveling health promotion program, stopped right on the Calabrian waterfront at the Beach Arena in Via Torrenova, and offered free screening throughout the day of the final. The players also acted as testimonials of the importance of prevention, delivering their own message.
These are the words of Daniela Terribile, President of Komen Italia: "Thanks to the solidarity of the City of Cirò Marina and the National Amateur League, the Komen Italia Caravan of Prevention was able to offer free examinations and diagnostic tests for the protection of women’s health to women with greater social or economic difficulties, whose needs increasingly require concrete attention".
"With more than 56,000 new cases a year in Italy alone,” he continued, “breast cancers represent the most frequent neoplasms in women, whose incidence is continually increasing and, although they are highly curable cancers, they still remain the leading cause of cancer death in the world female population. For this reason, the support of the Calabrian territory, the National Amateur League and the valuable volunteers at the side of Komen Italy è invaluable to achieve increasingly important goals and multiply initiatives in favor of prevention and early diagnosis"
"Through sport can come positive and tangible messages such as those launched with the initiative carried out in synergy with Komen Italy. We are honored to have realized a concrete project dedicated to women's health, which has linked, in particular, beach soccer to the theme of prevention" echoed him the Vice President Southern Area National Amateur League Saverio Mirarchi.
