Vuelta: double blow for Primoz Roglic
Primoz Roglic new leader of the Vuelta of Spain: the Slovenian cyclist won the fourth stage of the Spanish stage competition, the Plasencia-Pico Villuercas, which ended with a spectacular uphill finish with gradients of up to 15 percent. Roglic beat Belgian Lennart Van Eetvelt, who finished in second place. In third place was Portugal’s Joao Almeida.
Thanks to this success, Roglic è climbed to the first position in the overall standings, and took the red leader’s jersey: he now has an 8-second lead over Almeida and 32 over Spaniard Enric Mas.
"It wasn't the main goal today, but when you see the guys working hard in this heat you're happy to be able to pull it off", Roglic said.
The best of the Italians è was Antonio Tiberi, who finished eighth. Wednesdayè è is scheduled for stage five, a 170-kilometer stage from Fuente del Maestre to Seville.
