Yamaha announces Lin Jarvis's heir

Yamaha is beginning to chart its future. Through a note issued on its official channels, the Iwata-based company announced its decision to appoint Paolo Pavesio as the new managing director of the Japanese team starting in 2025. The Italian manager will take over from Lin Jarvis, who has decided to retire at the end of the season after an impressive 26 years of experience.

"On a personal note and on behalf of Yamaha, I would like to thank Lin for his dedication and achievements over the past 26 years. His commitment, diligence and leadership have been instrumental to the team’s success in MotoGp, and I am happy that we will still have access to his knowledge and experience in the future. Lin will be succeeded as Managing Director by Paolo Pavesio, who brings with him a wealth of experience gained at Yamaha Motor Europe where, as Marketing and Motorsport Director, he led Yamaha teams to world titles in WorldSBK, EWC and MXGP.

I look forward to welcoming Paolo to Yamaha Motor Racing in January and under his leadership, I am confident that Yamaha can secure the future success in MotoGp to which we all aspire" these are the words of Iwata team general manager Takahiro Sumi.

In his 26 years of experience, Lin Jarvis has won eight rider and six manufacturer titles. The British manager, however, will remain in the Yamaha environment as Senior Advisor.
