WTA Beijing draw: Jasmine Paolini on the side of Aryna Sabalenka, Bronzetti draws Osaka

Masters 1000 Beijing: Jasmine Paolini on the side of Mirra Andreeva and Aryna Sabalenka

The main draw for the Beijing Masters 1000, scheduled for Sept. 25 to Oct. 6, has been made. Jasmine Paolini, the third seed given the absences of Iga Swiatek and Elena Rybakina, world number one and four respectively,è was drawn at the top of the draw, in the same side as number one seeded Aryna Sabalenka.

The Tuscan player will debut in the second round against the winner of the match between Britain’s Harriet Dart and Denmark’s Clara Tauson. Then, on her way, there could be Poland’s Linette and an eighth round match with one between Mirra Andreeva and Donna Vekic. In the quarters possible cross with China’s Qinwen Zheng , while in the semifinals there could be a challenge with Aryna Sabalenka.  

As for the other Italian players, Lucia Bronzetti will make her debut against Naomi Osaka, who won the last precedent at Roland Garros. The winner will most likely face Kazakhstan’s Yulia Putintseva. A chance for a rematch also for Martina Trevisan, who will meet again the American Taylor Townsend.

Good draw, finally, for Elisabetta Cocciaretto, who will debut with a qualifier and the winner will face Belgian Elise Mertens in the second round.
