Keifer Sykes è the target of Varese Basketball

.

These are tumultuous days at Pallacanestro Varese: the heavy loss in Trieste weighs not a little on the morale of the players coached by Herman Mandole, and Nico Mannion's farewell in the direction of Milan meant that the team lost the man who only a few weeks ago was named captain of the white-and-reds.

Yet the Lombard club did not lose heart and indeed moved quickly on the market: in addition to Alex Tyus, who goes to reinforce the long department, the ten-time Italian champion club aims precisely to replace Mannion with a specific name, that of American Keifer Sykes, a point guard with experience in the NBA.

According to reports 'La Prealpina', the company would have chosen Sykes also because he knows the Italian league, having played in Avellino in 2018/2019 and in Olimpia Milano for part of the 2019/2020 year. The Chicago-born 30-year-old would thus go to replace Mannion himself, immediately giving an'alternative to its technical staff.

Growing up at the'University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, Sykes played, in addition to Avellino and Milan, for several other European clubs such as Ankara DSI, Turk Telekom and, albeit briefly, Panathinaikos. In the NBA he wore the Indiana Pacers’ jersey, rotating extensively in the G-League (for him experiences with Austin Spurs, Indiana Mad Ants, Motor City Cruise, Long Island Nets and Windy City Bulls).
