Felipe Melo, farewell to soccer: former Juventus and Inter Milan player announces retirement

Retirement from soccer comes at 41 years of age.

Felipe Melo says goodbye to soccer. The Brazilian midfielder, also known in Italy for his experiences in Serie A with the jerseys of Fiorentina, Juventus and Inter, has made his retirement official after the conclusion of his experience in his homeland in a Fluminense jersey.

"Today,” Felipe Melo wrote on his personal Instagram account, “I close one of the most important chapters of my life: my career as a footballer. They have been incredible years, full of battles and achievements, but above all, years in which I have seen God’s plan fulfilled in every step I have taken. Everything I have experienced, in every moment, è has been guided by His hand, and I am eternally grateful for the privilege of having done what I love".

"I thank all the clubs I have had the pleasure of playing for,” Felipe Melo continued, “the fans, who have been the fuel for my journey, my teammates, all the people who have marked this adventure, and my family, who have always believed in me. But, above all, I thank God, who gave me the abilityà, the courage and the possibilityà to experience all this".

"Now I have great confidence in my next chapter. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this story. Never stop dreaming big, planning confidently for your future and taking action", concluded Felipe Melo.
