Roland Garros, Errani/Paolini return to final: demolished Andreeva/Shnaider

With a real show of strength Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini return to the Roland Garros women’s doubles final. The Italians, number 2 in the seeding, overwhelmed Russian Mirra Andreeva and Diana Shnaider, the number 4 seed, with a clear 6-0 6-1 after just one hour of play.
Sara and Jasmine got off to a great start and hit the break in the opening set at the third good opportunity. The Italian pair confirmed the break at zero before repeating it in the third game (3-0). A blow too hard for Andreeva/Shnaider who close the set without getting even a game (0-6).
The Blue women snatched the service from the Russians also at the start of the second partial, confirming it on serve (2-1). In the third game Andreeva/Shnaider manage to break the deadlock (1-2) but it is an ephemeral joy: Errani/Paolini string four consecutive games and give themselves the final.
The Italian women’s team is the first to win the final.
Thanks to this victory Errani and Paolini fly to the last act of the Paris Slam where they will face the pair composed of Kazakhstan’s Anna Danilina and Serbia’s Aleksandra Krunic, who beat Eikeri/Hozumi in a comeback in the other semifinal.
