The’bitterness over the defeat in the Roland Garros final is a lot. Losing after having three match points is a tough one to take, even if your name is Jannik Sinner. Fortunately, there’s also a silver lining for the Azure, who, despite not having lifted the trophy in Paris, has forfeited more points than the Murcian in terms of ATP ranking.

The math is soon done. Carlos Alcaraz was to defend the title he won in 2024 while Jannik Sinner, last year, had stopped in the semifinals. Beating Nole Djokovic, the’Italian has, therefore, done better than last year.

Translated: Jannik Sinner greets Paris with an impressive 2,030 points. The new ATP ranking tells that the Italian is firmly in first place in the ranking with 10,880 points. Behind him is Roland Garros 2025 winner Carlos Alcaraz with 8,850 total points. Far behind is Alexander Zverev, third but with “only” 6,385 points.

Of note is the upgrade of Nole Djokovic, who, thanks to the semifinal in Paris, rises to fifth place (4,630 points), ahead of the ’other Italian phenomenon Lorenzo Musetti, sixth with 4,560 points. Now, in the crosshairs, there&#8217s the season on the grass and, in particular Wimbledon where Carlos Alcaraz, as happened in Paris, will have to defend the 2,000 points he won last year as winner of the tournament. Even if the Murcian were to win Wimbledon, Jannik Sinner would remain No. 1 in the world (regardless of where he stops on English grass).
