Andrea Romano confirmed his excellent form on the Alps Tour, finishing in third place with a score of 209 strokes (68 69 72, -7) in the Dreamland Open, played on the par 72 course of the Dreamland Golf Club in Cairo. The Frenchman Maxime Legros, author of a total of 202 strokes (65 66 71, -14), won his first title on the circuit.

In second place, with 204 (-12), was Spain’s Pablo Alperi, already runner up in the previous Villa Paradiso Alps Open. Romano shared third with a large group consisting of Frenchmen Ewan Le Tennier, Augustin Hole, Hermes Ferchaud, Benjamin Kedochim and Alexis Leray, along with Spaniards Alberto Dominguez and Javier Calles Roman.

Among the other Italians, 13th place with 211 (-5) for Enrico Di Nitto, Federico Livio and Filippo Bergamaschi; 28th place at 212 (-4) for Luca Memeo; 34th with 214 (-2) for Alessandro Nardini; 39th with 215 (-1) for Filippo Grossi and Mattia Comotti; 43rd with 216 (par) for Flavio Michetti; and, finally, 48th with 218 (+2) for Manfredi Manica.

Legros, a 24-year-old from Dinard, earned his 2023 card thanks to an eighth-place finish at the Qualifying School and landed on the Alps Tour in 2024. Prior to this success he had collected seven top tens in 28 tournaments. In Egypt he led the tournament from the early stages, building the lead with a 65 (-7) and a 66 (-6), then administering it with a 71 (-1, four birdies and three bogeys). The victory earned him 6,200 euros out of a total prize pool of 42,500 euros and a jump to fifth place in the order of merit.

Romano, 25, from Rome, on the other hand, strengthened his leadership in the ranking thanks to an excellent start to the season, marked by two victories (Red Sea Little Venice Open and New Giza Open), a third place, a 10th and a 12th. A possible new success would guarantee him immediate promotion to the HotelPlanner Tour, without waiting for the end of the season, which is reserved for the top five in the order of merit.

With the fourth edition of the Dreamland Open concluded (previously played as the Dreamland Pyramids Open in 2015, 2016 and 2019), the Alps Tour remains in Egypt: in fact, from April 24 to 26, The Allegria Open is scheduled, on the course of The Allegria Golf Club in Cairo, with the participation of 22 Italian players, including Romano himself.
