Novak Djokovic says he is certain that Jannik Sinner will be able to match his record and win all nine Masters 1000s in his career. “He will make it for sure, probably even this year. He is very strong, really impressive,” the Serbian outfielder said at a press conference in Rome.

According to Nole, Sinner’s feat will take on even more value than before: “Now it’s even more difficult to pull it off. The format of these tournaments has changed. I preferred them before, when the 1000s were one week long and only the Slams were two weeks. But that’s the way it is, you have to adapt and accept the situation.”

“There are some advantages, including having a day off between your matches, which allows you to recover better. Of course, it’s still difficult, because you have the different surfaces. But Jannik is a very complete player, though, and he has shown that in the last few years. There’s a reason why he’s No. 1 in the world.”

Djokovic then took stock of his physical condition: “It’s great to be back, I was looking forward to competing, to be back playing tournaments. I wanted to get back on the Tour earlier, but unfortunately the injury prevented me from doing that. I had to wait a little longer, progressively improve my physical condition and, of course, prepare for Rome, the city and the tournament that I really love and in which I have had great success for many years,” are the words reported by Ubitennis.

“The ultimate goal on this surface is Roland Garros and to try to prepare myself to play my best tennis there. But even here in Rome I don’t have too low expectations.”
