For the third time in five Sunday races, no Ducati made it onto the MotoGp podium. In France, the Borgo Panigale Redhead also had to bow to the overwhelming power of Aprilia, which for the first time in its history placed three of its bikes in the top positions with Jorge Martin’s success, Marco Bezzecchi’s place of honor and Ai Ogura’s third place. Despite this, Ducati team manager Davide Tardozzi does not want to make dramas and tries to see the glass half full despite the setbacks.

In the race on Sunday, by the way, there was only one official rider, Pecco Bagnaia, given Marc Marquez’s injury on Saturday. However, the Piedmontese rider crashed on lap 16 while in second place. “However, we want to take the positive from this weekend,” Tardozzi told ‘Sky Sport’ microphones. “He was fast, he made the pole and the fastest lap in the race. The races are like that. In any case, I want to congratulate Aprilia: when you bring three bikes on the podium it means you’ve worked well.”

“It’s up to us to be able to close a little more races on Sunday, because this year the long race is becoming a nightmare – he then added, bluntly -. But as for Pecco, he showed his speed. And on the other hand, we have always been sure that, for a MotoGp bi-champion, the value on the level of speed is never in question.”

In addition to the disappointing sporting result, the French weekend brings with it yet another injury for Marc Marquez, who was forced to undergo surgery after Saturday’s violent highside. “Marquez had surgery on his foot, fourth and fifth metatarsals: a plate was applied to the fifth and a screw to the fourth. As for his shoulder, the two pins that were bothering him were removed and the radial nerve was fixed.”

“The doctors who operated on him assured us that everything went well. In the next few days we will understand how and when he can return,” added Tardozzi, who por going into detail about the injury and speaking plainly about Marquez’s condition preferred not to compromise on the possible return date.
